Visegrad+ Grant

On 9th of November 2019, the fourth international scientific conference “Political parties and elections: Ukrainian and world practices” was held within the framework of the project “Improvement of Methods and Tools of Political Science in Ukraine: Influence of the V4 Universities”

The project and the conference within it are funded by the International Visegrad Fund. The conference was attended by the representatives of the partner institutions from the Visegrad Group and Ukraine, as well as by teachers, doctoral and post-graduate students at the Department of Political Science (project executor) and other departments dealing with Political Science in various cities of Ukraine and other countries of the world. Other interested persons had an opportunity to attend the conference, too.

An international scientific conference was opened by the project coordinator Vitaliy Lytvyn (Associate Professor at the department of Political Science, Doctor of Political Science), the Head of the department of Political Science Anatoliy Romanyuk (Full Professor at the department of Political Science, Doctor of Political Science), and the Vice-Rector on Science of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv Roman Gladyshevsky (Professor, Doctor of Chemical Sciences, Corresponding Member of NAS of Ukraine).

The conference was held in the following sections:

  1. The features of analysis and change of electoral preferences during the 2019 presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine.
  2. Electoral processes and transformations in the countries of the Visegrad Group and other countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the world.
  3. The dynamics of development of party and electoral systems in Ukraine, countries of the Visegrad Group and other countries of the world.

The scientific sections of the conference worked in turn and were organized according to the traditional principle.

In addition, the conference presented the information about the project’s goals, the prospects for cooperation with the International Visegrad Fund and partner institutions from the Visegrad Group countries. Based on the results of the scientific conference, a collection of scientific articles and abstracts of its participants “Political parties and elections: Ukrainian and world practices” is being prepared and it will be disseminated in the educational process and in the scientific space. One of the results of the conference is that its participants exchanged with the information and experience, which will be disseminated in educational and research institutions of Ukraine and the countries of the Visegrad Group and other countries in the world, and will contribute to the improvement of methods and tools of Political Science, including on political parties and elections, in the future.
