The collective monograph based on the results of a series of workshops and the collection of articles and abstracts based on the results of an international scientific conference have been prepared and published

The collective monograph “Contemporary Methods and Tools of Political Science” was published based on the results of a series of theoretical and practical workshops within the project “Improvement of Methods and Tools of Political Science in Ukraine: Influence of the V4 Universities” on September 13–15, 2019. This was done with the support of the International Visegrad Fund.

The collective monograph contains the researches of the participants and experts of a series of theoretical and practical workshops from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Ukraine, held at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv within the project “Improvement of Methods and Tools of Political Science in Ukraine: Influence of the V4 Universities” on September 13–15, 2019. The collective monograph is devoted to the problems of contemporary methods and tools of Political Science, in particular in the study of political transitions, political and party systems, political and election campaigns, political advertising and ideologies, public policy and cross-border cooperation, political finances. A separate section is dedicated to quantitative methods and tools for the study of political phenomena and processes. The collective monograph will be disseminated in the educational and research institutions of Ukraine and the V4 countries and will be of interest for political scientists and those focused on the methods and tools of Political Science. In total, the collective monograph consists of nine chapters, each of which focuses on specific tools of Political Science in a particular area of the political process. The peculiarity of the collective monograph is that it is prepared partly in English and partly in Ukrainian. In such a format, it will most effectively promote the development of knowledge about the methods and tolls of Political Science, in particular through the dissemination in educational and research institutions of Ukraine and the countries of the Visegrad Group. The collection of articles and abstracts “Political parties and elections: Ukrainian and world practices” was prepared based on the results of the fourth international scientific conference of the Department of Political Science “Political parties and elections: Ukrainian and world practices” (in memory of Yuriy Romanovych Shveda) on November 9, 2019. The conference was also held in the framework of the project “Improvement of Methods and Tools of Political Science in Ukraine: Influence of the V4 Universities” with the support of the International Visegrad Fund.

The collection of articles and abstracts of the scientific conference is organized in sections – in accordance with the sections of the conference. In general, the collection covers the problems of the peculiarities of the analysis and change of electoral preferences during the 2019 elections in Ukraine, electoral processes and transformations in the Visegrad Group countries and other Central and Eastern Europe countries and the world, the dynamics of party and electoral systems in Ukraine, Visegrad Group countries and other countries.
